Benalla Super Street Party
The 2025 Hi-Tec Oils Super Series is officially underway after the season commenced with the Benalla Street Party on Thursday evening.
Round 1 takes place this weekend at the Benalla Auto Club run Winton Motor Raceway, less than 10 minutes from the local town.
The street party was the first of its kind for the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series and proved to be a great success.
The event took place on Mair Street from 4pm-7pm and featured many cars, and several star drivers.
Drivers included last year’s TA2 Muscle Car Series runner-up Brad Gartner and Tabitha Ambrose (the daughter of former V8 Supercars champion and NASCAR race winner Marcos), who is racing in Formula Ford this weekend.
Other drivers included TA2 rookie Kiara Zabetakis, Ambrose’s Formula Ford teammate Brad James, Australian Drivers’ Championship (ADC) competitor Rob Summons, Innovations Race Car driver Danny Stutterd, and many more.
The event was free to the public, and throughout drivers were generous with their time, chatting, signing autographs and taking selfies with fans.
There were many racing cars lined up on Mair street, including a TA2, an Aussie built Hyper Racer X1 (ADC car), two purpose-built Aussie Innovation Race Cars, and three Australian Super Tin Tops, including Cory Gillett’s front running Nissan Silvia.
The Super Series was privileged to welcome Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn, and multiple other local council members.
Mayor Hearn made a speech and also jumped into the TA2 car on display.
AS well as the cars and stars, there was road car display which featured performance vehicles including an Alfa Romeo GTV.
There was certainly plenty to see and do, with some lucky fans winning a pass to the weekend’s action.
The event will be broadcast live on SBS, SBS On Demand, Kayo and Fox Sports from 1pm-5pm AEDT. The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series Stream runs from 9.30am-5pm AEDT both days.
A Saturday ticket to attend costs $20, Sunday $30, or a 2-day pass for just $40. Friday attendance is free for all, while the entire event is free if you are under the age of 16.
