Formula RX8 and the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series have inked a four-year contract, which will see the popular one-make race category remain on the undercard until the end of 2028.

The Mazda RX8 series, Formula RX8 is running its inaugural season this year, and with grid sizes growing round-upon-round, the decision was made by both parties to sign a multi-year deal.

“We at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series are delighted to put pen to paper and extend our partnership with Formula RX8 until the end of 2028,” said Carolyn Oldano, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.

“This falls in line with the exceptional TV deal, and naming rights sponsorship of Hi-Tec Oils, both of which are already signed until the end of 2028.

“We see great value in having Formula RX8 as a part of our series. Formula RX8 is such a well-run category, they've got competitions, they've got great sponsors, and they're really promoting themselves well.

“A big thumbs up to Stacy Vickers, Justin Lewis, Ivan Vantagiato and the whole team, they're doing a tremendous job. Hard to believe the series is in its first full year.”

The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series has great reach, it is not only shown on Fox Sports and Kayo, but also live and free on free-to-air TV with SBS, and on the Super Series YouTube channel.

Ivan Vantagianto, the Director of Formula RX8 is delighted to sign such a long-term deal, remaining with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series. He cites the TV deal as one of the major contributing factors.

“It's very, very important signing with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series until the end of 2028, especially as a brand-new category this year,” he said.

“The mission we have is to support local talent and give them the best exposure possible, while trying to keep costs down. Being on the Super Series bill ticks all of those boxes, it was a very important deal to give drivers and teams the confidence that we're here to stay, and that they can grow with us.

“The TV deal is massive, it allows the drivers in our category to approach businesses with confidence that their sponsorship is going to be seen on national TV, and that was an important and critical part of us securing the long-term deal.

“The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series has done an absolutely brilliant job. A huge thank you to them, because without them, it just would not be possible for us to have the kind of reach, and the kind of results that we're experiencing, we are super delighted to be a part of it.”

The series is blossoming, with record entry numbers listed to compete at Winton Motor Raceway this weekend.

Already, many young future stars have entered the series and are fighting at the front of the field. This is a sign of things to come in 2025 onwards, Formula RX8 is establishing itself as a real pathway category.

“The partnership with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series has been a fantastic marriage between the two parties. It's allowing drivers from all walks of life, from Esports to go karting and everything in between to compete,” Vantagianto explained.

“We have over 10 drivers that can get on the podium every weekend, it's very competitive.

“We've constructed the rules to give everybody the opportunity to build a competitive car, but also lease a competitive car. We make sure that the customer, the race driver, gets the best opportunity to be competitive, which is all the driver ever wants.”

The 2025 Formula RX8 and Hi-Tec Oils Super Series calendar will be announced in coming weeks.
