Media Release: Super Series Set For Super Finale
The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series season will conclude this weekend at One Raceway in New South Wales with half a dozen high-quality national categories in tow, it is set to be a cracker.
One Raceway (formerly known as Wakefield Park) in New South Wales re-opened less than a month ago with a new re-configurated circuit, the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series will be the first national car racing event to be run on the new layout.
“Given our groups history with the venue, it is a great privilege to bring four-wheeled motorsport back to One Raceway,” said Carolyn Oldano, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.
“Being our final round, championships are on the line. Our headline act, TA2, has two young guns fighting it out, with Josh Haynes from Canberra, and Brad Gartner from South Australia.”
It is a true Ford with Haynes flying the Blue Oval flag and Chevrolet being represented by Gartner.
After a challenging round at The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, Gartner responded by winning the most recent round at Winton Motor Raceway, despite this he trails Gartner by a large, however not unassailable advantage going into the final round.
“Formula RX8, is concluding a stellar debut year, with two standouts, Brock Paine battling Rob Boaden for supremacy,” she said.
Formula RX8 is a one-make Mazda RX8 series, Paine and Boaden have been the class of the field for much of the season, they are locked in a titanic fight for the championship.
Thomas Derwent won his first race last time out at Winton, he, along with Ivan Vantagiato and Ayrton Filippi could play a factor in determining the championship outcome.
“The small sized Legend Cars Australia series has been another stand out category for the series, and has a championship on the line as well,” she explained.
The Legends Car Australia Series is so highly competitive, it is some of the most exciting racing you will ever see.
There have been so many winners this season in the pocket rocket category, and as a result eleven different drivers head into the season finale with a mathematical shot at the title, Ryan Pring currently leads the way.
After several events away we welcome back Stock Cars Australia to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.
Stock Cars Australia is open to anything with a V8 engine, but is mostly made up of former NASCARs, AUSCARS and NASCAR trucks which competed in either America or locally. As a result, this category is one of the most popular on the Super Series bill.
The Australian Drivers’ Championship debuted with the Super Series at The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park several months ago, and they are an exciting addition.
The open-wheel Hyper Racer X1s are Aussie designed and built machines, they produce insane downforce and a power to weight ratio of around 500bhp per ton.
“With the final round of the Australian Drivers Championship and final round of Stock Cars Australia, you have an action-packed weekend of diverse and spectacular racing,” she said.
“It’s a brilliant opportunity for the series and the fans alike to see these categories. One category pure V8 muscle at its finest, and the other an Australian Home Grown and true open-wheel category with the appropriate title.”
“It is also great to have formula Vee back for the final round.”
Not just any old Formula Vees either, it is a round of the national Formula Vees championship, with a huge field of over 20 cars entered. Can the local New South Wales drivers take it to the national series regulars?

Admission on Friday is free, $20 to attend on Saturday, $30 on Sunday, or $40 for both days. Children under the age of 16 can enter for free.
