Australian Drivers’ Championship locks in 2025 calendar

In 2025 the Australian Drivers’ Championship (ADC) expands further, the series will visit a new venue, as well as supporting more national Hi-Tec Oils Super Series events.

The Aussie built Hyper Racer X1 open-wheel machines will contest a six-round championship in 2025, highlighted by a debut trip to Sydney Motorsport Park.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm for the round at Sydney Motorsport Park, everyone wants to have a go,” said category founder Jon Crooke.

“My son Dean Crooke has raced there a few times in Superkarts, he’s told all the guys, it’s going to be good.

“All our drivers, they’ve watched Sydney Motorsport Park on TV for years, they are all excited to get there. It’s a great thing for our category.”

Two rounds at Winton Motor Raceway will bookend the series, starting in February and ending in November.
After concluding the championship at One Raceway in 2024, this year, the ADC returns to the newly re-opened New South Wales venue for Round 2, racing on the MSA programme in April.

As part of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship, Round 3 will see the series visit South Australia, at The Bend.
Round 4 is the before mentioned, maiden visit to Sydney Motorsport Park.

The season concludes with back-to-back rounds in Victoria, the first at Calder Park, before ending at Winton.

“It’s a fantastic calendar, Stephen Whyte, Carolyn Oldano and the AASA team, they really try to help us out and get a right spread for our driver base,” Crooke said.

“We’ve got three New South Wales owners, but tonnes in Victoria, so we try to keep it centric to the southeastern corner of Australia without going into Darwin, Perth or Queensland, but that will come down the track.”

The round in Sydney, as well as both visits to Winton Motor Raceway will be shown live on SBS, Fox Sports and Kayo, as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series coverage.

“It’s great and they cover it so well, right down to driver interviews on the grid,” Crooke said. “The guys running that gig know motor racing, they are hardcore racers.”

Last year saw a record for Hyper Racer X1 entries, and in 2025 Crooke is anticipating even bigger grids.

“We had an average of 14 to 15, our biggest event was 16,” he recalled. “We’re pretty sure we’ll average 20 plus.
“We have all the drivers returning from last year, plus a fair few newbies, some with a lot of racing experience, and some with not much. Lots of reasons to be excited.”
