Joe Fawcett secures maiden Formula Ford Stars & Renegades pole

The fast driver in practice has converted this into pole, with Joe Fawcett setting the pace in qualifying at Winton for the inaugural round of the Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series.

Warm track conditions played a part as Fawcett’s 1m 25.413s was set early during the 30-minute session and was unable to be bettered.

Kobi Williams was the closest contender falling just 0.209s short as Lachlan Evennett rounded out the top three.

Jamie Rowe was fourth just edging out Will Lowing, who had an off-track excursion late in the session and will start fifth for the opening race.

Fraser Hie, Giuseppe Imbrogno, Brad James, Hunter Salvatore and Jack Johnson complete the top, which was covered by 1.7s.

Kaleb Balek, Tabitha Ambrose and Ethan Fitzgerald complete the grid for Heat 1 of the Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series at 1:10pm AEDT.

The opening event will begin the live broadcast on SBS On-demand, Fox Sports and Kayo commencing at 1:00pm AEDT.
